Your one-day hike to Humantay Lake—also known as the Blue Lagoon—begins with an early morning pickup at 4:00 a.m. from your hotel or Airbnb within Cusco city. From there, we’ll embark on a 3-hour drive to Soraypampa, the starting point of our adventure, located at an elevation of 3,800 meters (12,460 feet).

Surrounded by towering mountains and breathtaking valleys, your hiking team will prepare a hearty breakfast to fuel you for the journey ahead. The uphill hike along the Salkantay Trail takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, with your guide sharing insights about the local flora and fauna along the way and pausing at scenic spots for picture-perfect views of the snow-capped peaks.

At the top, you’ll be rewarded with the day’s highlight—the stunning Humantay Lake, a turquoise gem nestled beneath the mighty glaciers. After taking in the views and capturing the moment, we’ll begin the descent, which is typically faster than the climb.

Once back at the base, a well-deserved lunch will be waiting for you. With full hearts and satisfied appetites, we’ll make our way back to Cusco, arriving after a relaxing 3-hour drive in our private van.
